v0.1.0 (2026-09-25)

This release requires Java 25 or newer. This is a breaking runtime change. The public image API remains unchanged.

  • Replaced Coffi with babashka/ffi as an external dependency, without bundling its runtime in the main jar.

  • Requires Java 25 or newer with native access enabled.

  • Updated native companion jars to 1.3.3-1 from sharp-libvips 1.3.3, which bundles libvips 8.18.6.

  • Removed the Clojure dependency from native companion jars.

  • Fixed ARM Nix development-shell evaluation.

  • Fixed an error that prevented use of open images after a namespace reload.

  • Added GraalVM Native Image support, tested on Linux x86-64 with glibc. See GraalVM Native Image.

v0.0.1 (2026-07-13)

  • Released the first public version of the ol.vips main library.

  • Added a Clojure-owned FFI/FFM layer with generated operation and enum wrappers, image I/O for files, byte arrays, and streams, metadata helpers, and multipage and animated-image operations.

  • Published native companion jars for Linux on x86-64 and AArch64 with glibc or musl, macOS on x86-64 and Apple silicon, and Windows on x86-64.

  • Updated every native companion jar to sharp-libvips 1.3.2, which bundles libvips 8.18.3.

  • Regenerated the operation and enum bindings for libvips 8.18.3, including Oklab, Oklch, and UltraHDR support exposed by the upstream binaries.

  • Added publication checks that validate every staged native bundle against the project’s declared libvips version.
